Package com.appdynamics.apm.appagent.api Description

Provides AppDynamics APM APIs that enable application performance instrumentation of very complex and custom Java environments developed by customers for their business applications. The AppDynamics SDK gives access to our APM solution for integration and extensibility by customer application environments to give visibility into the details of performance in production environments via our application server agents utilizing our byte code injection Transaction Flow Mapping^TM technology.

The goal of these APIs are:

• Enable instrumentation of complex threading environments
• Enable transaction flow traceability across custom protocols
• Enable Agent extensibility
• Enable custom data collection of any metric via our into the Policy Engine

The api classes are packaged as part of javagent.jar. Application code using appdynamics api need to add javagent.jar to their classpath for source code compilation. In runtime the javagent.jar is made available using JVM option -javaagent:/javaagent.jar hence there is no need to inclued the javagent.jar as part of application deployment units.

The AgentDelegate class provides static helper methoods to get handle to the API Implementations.
